Dead Objectives

Human Symptom - Self Released

Dead Objectives began in Manchester in 2013 and they are now set to release their eagerly anticipated debut album, Human Symptom, on November 8th, this is a band that are firmly grounded in their punk roots but offer a fresh new assault on everything that is wrong in their world. Dead Objectives deliver an incendiary mix of quasi experimental hardcore that yields up undertones of early Killing Joke and Conflict, the latter being a band that they will be celebrating the launch of Human Symptom with on December 8th at Manchester’s Witchwood venue.

A sinister bass line leads you into the opening track, Against The Grain, that builds in intensity with spiky guitar riffs, vocals that are born out of pure rage and intense beats, this impressive opening track is the perfect example of Dead Objectives unique style, one that is informed by everything from post punk to hardcore. Human Symptom veers across the punk spectrum, you can hear everything from the raw political punk of The Ruts and Dead Kennedys and the hardcore intensity of Conflict and GBH to the post punk of Killing Joke and Joy Division, and even hints of a dark influence from proto goths Bauhaus and Sisters Of MercyHuman Symptom is an album that is in constant conflict between their darker claustrophobic influences and unrestrained anger, the end result is an album that possesses the venom and political focus of punk’s finest agitators.

Every track on Human Symptom rages at injustice and inequality and the lyrics are spat with a passion that comes straight from the heart. With their debut album Dead Objectives have released an impressive eleven track manifesto that avoids the predictable pitfall of just shouting the headlines, Human Symptom is an album of intelligent politically focused punk that borders on perfection. Dead Objectives are the perfect soundtrack for the current political climate, this is a band who are aren’t going down without a fight and whose sights are firmly fixed on their targets.

Human Symptom will be available via Dead Objectives Bandcamp on December 8th here
