Glue Ear

Live At The Attic Manchester - Horn & Hoof Records

Glue Ear are if your’e not familiar, are a Punk/Ska band with hardcore leanings from Manchester,  bringing it to you as raw as it should be music, with no frills, no excuses and definitely no fucks given.

This being a live album, it was met with the usual “here we go again, another shit recording, thrown out, because it’s a band that can’t be arsed recording new stuff”.  How wrong do you want that statement to be?   Personally, every time I think that and they hit play, I’m truly hoping that I get blasted out of the park by something special.  Nah this hasn’t happened here, but and there is a but, this most definitely hangs the bands dirty clothes out to dry and brings a warts n all moment in time back to life.

Not a shit recording, but a true uncut, as if you were by the stage, recording.  From the first drunken ramblings, you are transported way back to a gig, a real gig!  With a set list that to be honest, covers all the best bits of a band that play grass roots punk music, with a style that drips of dirty back of room pubs, basements full of sweaty ass Punks and well, pretty much anywhere they can plug in and play they will!

Not to be so clever as to try and explain how good each songs sounds, explain the lyrics or maybe even drag out some wonderful words on how well they have honed their musical skills, I would rather leave my non musical head at the door and simply say, grab a few beers (which by the way they did by the bucket full, before taking to the stage, so we are told) settle back and enjoy a dance around with ya mates to this car crash moment of punk rock.
