Tim Loud

Salvation - TNS Records

The infamous antifolk troubadour Tim Loud is set to release his third full length, Salvation, on the 28th September via TNS Records, Tim Loud has become a recognisable figure on the European DIY scene playing both solo acoustic sets of roots, blues and antifolk, raucous sets with his full band and appearing at Festivals across the summer. His style encompass a broad range of genres and his lyrics are always passionate, on both personal and political matters, and are always conveyed with a knowing sense of irony and a healthy and heavy dose of cynicism.

Sucker For The Blues opens Salvation with a country influenced number that emotes about being in love in your unhappiness, you just settle down into the groove of the opening track and immediately What Am I? kicks you straight out of your comfort zone with a furious bout of folk punk. This sets the tone for the whole of Salvation as the album veers between gentle ballads that channel the original folk scene, through country and bluegrass roots and of course folk punk spirit, and just in case you had forgotten exactly where Tim Loud‘s roots lie you get the full on intensity of the punk rock storm of the album’s two closing tracks, Hate and Debate.

Salvation is not a predictable release, veering from tender folk and country spirit to full on punk rock and back again over the course of it’s eleven tracks, but Salvation is an album that deserves to be heard, and it’s not often that I can say there will be something for everyone on an album, but I suspect this is the case on Tim Loud‘s latest release. You can now pre-order Salvation from TNSrecords on random colour vinyl, CD and digital formats, following the release of his latest full length Tim will be embarking on an eight date UK tour with Roughneck Riot that will be followed by a sixteen date solo tour in Western Europe, and if you seek Salvation you’ll also be able to pick a copy up at his live dates.
