These Times Alone - Self Released
Whilst still working on their debut album this Derbyshire Uk quartet have taken the time to release an EP to fill the void that Covid has created in their original plans.
So ‘These Times Alone’ a five track slice of life was born, whether by coincidence or design, this EP seems to fit the mood of the past year or so. Times have been hard for some, being alone in isolation or just missing the reality of social contact has been a microcosm of emotions for some.

The title track blasts off this journey into what from the outside looks like it could easily be a heavy emotional down beat slog for the listener, but no, what you get is a melodic angst filled cry out against being alone, more of a fight back than a resignation, power punk that’s gonna have you feeling energised not dragged down!
‘Story Of my Life’ originally released in its own right back in 2020 carries on the epic sound of this release, although not the same as its name sake from the brilliant Social Distortion, it does however stand out there to be counted, and their pure adrenalin filled delivery, leaves no doubt that they deserve the comparison. ’Ground Down’ next up, shows a heavier side, it gives out an almost Oi attitude, but with so much more than just a chant.
Then the absolute icing on the cake a double header of lofty proportions finishes off the EP, ‘Nowhere Without You’ slides wonderfully into your ears, a punk classic if I ever heard one, followed by ‘D.I.Y.’ a moment in time that takes you all the way back to the beginning of punk, the reason you joined the cause, music played by the people for the people, songs that the likes of Chelsea or the Vibrators might have penned back in the day.
Before They Are Hanged are definitely going in a direction that will bring them plenty of attention, if this is the lead up to their first full length, then its something worth waiting for.
The lyrical content of our times, emotions, angst and passion, played with every ounce of classic punk running through its veins!
