Ghosts Among The Pines Drop New Single & Video “Holding On”
Alabama's Ghosts Among The Pines have revealed Holding On, the track is the lead single and video from the band’s…
A Story Well Told - Self Released
From the West Midlands UK, which is not quite the middle of the country, and to this end, Chapter Nineteen have taken this very personally, their music is very off centre or just short of middle in its approach, but in a good way, no middle of the road for these two. Yes a duo, Drums and Guitar style, but while we are telling you what this band are not, we might as well say that they are NOT White Stripes (or at least not 99% of the time), they are not Slaves (although there are hidden moments) and they are most definitely not Royal Blood (thankfully).
This EP ‘A Story Well Told’, a debut EP at that, is 7 tracks long (some bands would pass less tracks off as an album by the way), it attempts to map the bands struggle to fit in with their braveness to be different and unique, on how if you go down this route its probably more than likely it will never end well, but what the hell! Without these bands, us real music lovers would be starved of our life blood, although this does come at a cost to many very highly brilliant bands, they never get paid or worse they become totally huge and start writing songs just to please.

So how does this all start? ‘Why Even Try’ hits out at the truth behind all the “we want something different” crowd, do they really? Well when so many unique bands fail to break through, it kind of doesn’t really feel that way.
Each song on the EP, shows how very different you can be, but will this actually get you noticed. Hardcore/Rock/Punk is the under belly of every song, but Chapter Nineteen obviously don’t know that being of this genre, you need to belong or you don’t belong! Well this listener is not one to be frightened of bucking any clique, its always better to enjoy what you do and not give a toss for sticking to the rules, ‘When Nobody Cares’ shows us how you can still be cool, but throw in some fun at the same time, a blend of rock/pop or is that , who cares, its great.
“All we want is someone to listen”, “We never had a chance”, lines from ‘We Never Had A Chance’ the song that says it all.
I get it, do you?
The long and short of it, is that this duo have got what it takes, but will this be enough?
Reality all rolled up in a musical story, now if you understand this statement, you might actually enjoy this EP. Music for music lovers, not for lovers of a scene.
