In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 - Equal Vision Records

I’ll be honest with you all: I wasn’t looking forward to this album. Everywhere I look it was getting good press; but the tracks I had heard weren’t anything spectacular. But after listening to the album through in it’s entirety, I am simply in awe.

The album starts off perfectly, before hitting a slight bump. The introduction, by the name of The Ring In Return, starts off, appropriately enough, with a phone ringing before heading into one of the best musical pieces I have heard in a while. It gets you wanting to hear more right away. Unfortunately, with around 30 seconds left in the track it stops and a wind-like sound starts playing. This reminds me immensely of the artwork for the album (clouds covering the earth). This puts a dapper on the introduction a bit, but the CD-titled track soon starts blasting into your speakers which easily pulls your attention away.

The lyrics are something which pulls you in right away. They are always very catchy and portrays vivid stories. Reading the booklet, you get an immediate sense of respect for the band as you come to the fourth track, Three Evils (Embodied In Love And Shadow). The final set of lyrics from the track are “Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops…“; right underneath those few words is the following:
(These Lyrics Are Part Of A Story And Should Not Be Taken Literally.)
That really struck me hard; as it shows the respect the band as for their fans and just their general concern for humanity.

Another standout portion are tracks 7,8 and 9; or “The Velourium Camper” story. The three tracks all go together, and tell a very interesting story. The only real downside to the album is the bonus track; it is just not up to the band’s standard.

In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3 is an album I do really recommend. But it is one that must be heard in it’s entirety to be respected and appreciated. Not only one track at a time.
