Dayglo Abortions

Hate Speech - Self Released

Dayglo Abortions are looking at releasing this their millionth album in or around 2022, or just when they damn feel like it. As you might have guessed, this is not a band who tow the line or do things to suit anyone except themselves, I for one salute this way of thinking, I mean what would life be like without punk rock or for that matter Dayglo Abortions?

Anyway here we are an album of 10 tracks that are all set to blast away the hangover that was 2021 and bring some well needed thoughts on for starters, the fate of ‘White People’ a race of pig headed stupidity that never saw their demise coming, as if it were the fault of so many others, all this encased in a power driver of a musical hammer, with moments of guitar sweetness that should not be missed, and that’s just track 1!.

As you might have guessed, this album is not going to take any prisoners, your not going to come out the other end with any doubt that this is a straight for the jugular kind of lesson in how to say what you feel and speak out against life wrongs, ‘God Is Love’ hits a particular note with myself, how in particular Christianity is an institution built on mass murder and hypocrisy, this sung with all the conviction of belief that it should be.

Throughout what can only be described as an album of “getting shit of my chest” or “it’s about time these things should be said”, their are many times when you find yourself nodding your head with a knowingness or chuckling with rye smile all over your face.  Songs like ‘Sacks Of Meat’  that brings home the reality of a system which only seeks to control or oppress at every turn, ‘Raised on Chest Milk’ is another example of the brilliance of thought that is being driven down by the endless bombardment of herd or group propaganda, then we have songs like ‘What’s For Breakfast Mom’ a look at the sadness, dilemma and heartache that surrounds drug addiction.

All in all a pretty heavy and thought provoking album, but what makes this so much more than so many others albums of its kind, is that your not left battered and bruised by the end (or maybe emotionally you are), musically brilliant in ways you some how are not expecting, yes it can be a little harsh and most definitely hardcore, but there are just enough soft centres in there to keep your ears from bleeding and leaving you wanting more.

Punk Rock of the conscious kind, an album that fucking kicks ass, yet still finds time to throw some wonderful music at your ears.

Due out sometime in the future, but not yet, keep your ears open and click HERE for news.
