Jetty Bones

"-" - Take This To Heart Records

Jetty Bones are set to return with their upcoming, and it must be said oddly named, EP, “–”, which is due to drop on February 22nd 2019 via Take This To Heart Records“-” arrives in the wake of Jetty Bones two previous releases EP releases, 2016’s Crucial States and 2017’s Old Women. The band remains centred around the songwriting and vision of Kelc Galluzzo who utilises musicians and friends to put some meat on the bones of the project, both live and in the studio.

On their latest release Jetty Bones have revealed an EP that for me is delivered in three distinct chapters. Better eases you into the annoyingly titled EP with synth beats, shimmering keys and laid back pop punk riff, all of which is offset with a glorious vocal delivery, Brining It Up brings a more direct indie approach with Kelc Galluzzo‘s vocals once more stealing the show. The mid way point of the EP is marked by a duo of tracks, The Part and Jogging, that take the EP into more thoughtful territory, the former ebbing and flowing with the latter bringing an introspective moment with a beautiful layered vocal. The final pair, To Know You and The Rest Of Them, mark a welcome return to the melodic indie style that drew you into the EP.

Kelc Galluzzo‘s vocals pirouette over the melodic Indie soundtrack that is a must for fans of everything from pop punk and math rock through to indie and snythpop, the textures and melodies coming from the former coupling and the delivery being filtered through the latter pairing. I’m not sure why you would call an EP “-“, but with this oddly monikered release Kelc Galluzzo has solidified the sound that was developing on their previous releases. “-“ is now available for pre-order on CD, coloured vinyl and digital formats, Jetty Bones will also be on tour across the USA between February 25th and March 29th with Mat Kerekes and Jacob Sigman.

You can pre-order “-“ via on all formats via Take This To Heart Records here
