Kringer And The Battle Katz

The New Adventures Of Kringer And The Battle Katz - Lickerish Records / Horn & Hoof Records

Back in the eighties there was much to distract you, the hardcore scene was flourishing, thrash metal and grindcore bands were at their peak and lets not forget that there were some legendary kids cartoon shows. This collection of random ingredients obviously left some deep psychological scars on the members of Kringer And The Battle Katz, as this is a band that are an twisted amalgamation of all those things . Kringer And The Battle Katz are now set to unleash The New Adventures Of Kringer And The Battle Katz, the next chapter from the self styled champions of party metal and idiotcore.

The fuzzed out opening riff of disOBEYed precedes a dual vocal full metal racket that sounds like the unholy union of early Beastie Boys and a vintage Anthrax b-side, it’s followed by Symbiotic that channels eighties hardcore and the spirit of Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankesnstein. At the midway point L.O.S.T slows things down, sludgier elements are dragged kicking and screaming into the mix before they kick back into what Kringer And The Battle Katz do best, as they bring forth the EP’s finest moment, Time Crisis, a gloriously mutated hybrid of rap metal and hardcore. The final instalment of The New Adventures Of Kringer And The Battle Katz is Lightweight Title, a track that combines everything that the band treasure in an increasingly chaotic finale.

The New Adventures Of Kringer And The Battle Katz follows up on last years full length where the band took on the Space T-Rex, having experienced the band live I can testify that there is no way that the chaos that Kringer And The Battle Katz bring to a live show could possibly be captured in the studio, but with their latest EP this is as close as you’re going to get without actually encountering them in the flesh. The New Adventures Of Kringer And The Battle Katz will be released via Lickerish Records on the 14th of May.
