We Call This Life - Aggravated Music

This EP came out last June, so it’s been almost a full year, but I just got my hands on a copy today. After having listened to this album multiple times today, I learnt something new about Limitpoint: They Rule! This 7 song EP is full of good old punk rock songs. From the first track to the final one, there is not one which I find disappointing. It’s a real find for any punk rock fan.

Combining catchy vocals with smooth, fast paced guitar riffs and constant drum beats create a punk sound which gets you listening to the album once again. Intricate rhythms coincide perfectly with the lead vocals by Mikey. Changing tone from time to time also gives this band a extra little touch and sound to themselves.

The opening track, Today is Your Day is my second favorite track on the album. It is one of the best opening songs I have heard. It really gets you interested into hearing more from this band. The first few lines of vocals come bursting at you right at the start, then the instruments come in and helps them out. The chorus is amazingly catchy, along with most of the lyrics from the song. The best lyrics from the song are by far the following:
Walk into the room and stick my middle finger up in your face
Genius! It is a perfect opening track and just a perfect song.

Track 5, Rick N’ Roll, is another really good song on the EP. The beat once again is energetic and gets your jumping. With a harder drum beat this time around though. Vocals are once again amazingly catchy, throwing in some “Woahs” to get your attention too. Using a mix of background vocals at time supply a little extra touch too on some parts. Lyrically, this song is about how Rock N’ Roll will live forever.

Simple, the final track is my absolute favorite. Starting off with a bass rhythm, the drums soon come in and they continue on a duet for a bit. The vocals then come in as the drum and bass takes a back seat. The vocals aren’t quite as catchy as the other songs, but are still powerful. Explaining how life isn’t always so simple. A bit before the 2 minute 30 seconds mark, they repeat “The light ahead is flickering distance” three times. In that instance, the way they say it and the tune, it sounds so similar to Taking Back Sunday (can’t remember which song). It truly is fantastic.
