San Jose, CA's The New Catastrophes have released their new album, Weather The Storm, via streaming platforms, as a free…
Airwaves - Self Released
When he’s not playing with his number one passion LoGOz, or messing around with his favourite poet lady Cherry B, Peesh still finds time in there to write record and release a solo EP.
Airwaves comes along as a slab of Punk Rock n Roll that will have you wondering why on earth, you haven’t had your ears graced by this down to earth North East of England man of the people before now, or like myself, you are salivating at the idea of more monster riffage and lyrical wizardry.
This release a four track EP, comes hot on the heels of his Vicious Circle EP from 2021, which in it self saw Peesh push his musical boundaries even further.

The title track Airwaves comes in with a fuzzy crackling noise, that us of a certain age may recognise, back in the mists of time, we used to have to tune in our radio and hope that the Ariel could be manoeuvred around to pick up those DJ’s spinning vinyl from our favourite bands or even better, was the moment when you heard something new that would blow you away and get you heading to the local record store to buy it. Peesh has a way of encompassing the realties of life within sexy rock n roll music, this track is no different.
Whether it be with LoGOz, Cherry B or even any other of his incarnations, what is always constant with Peesh, is his local ties to life, friends and family, ‘Live In Here’ touches on this in a way that says how much the social media, technological bubble we live in, can create a world of non interaction, our social identity is driven by likes and how many clicks we get, lets just hope we don’t get lost in here, this is wrapped up within a typical riff led melodic sound that always sounds better turned up to eleven!
Next up is something of a banger that rocks harder than the others on here, its angst is held back a little early on, but then let loose on your ears, ‘Toxic Shock Sick’ has every right to be on this EP, yet this is totally over shadowed by ‘Ok Not To Be Alright’ which is exactly what it sounds like, an anthem to those who suffer from depression or mental illness, never feel like you should always put your face on for the world, “its ok not to be ok!”, this is a song that is held together perfectly by a musically empathetic jacket.
Songs that take you to places that can be dark and bewildering, yet have an uplifting sound that Peesh always gives you.
This is a 100% DIY release, self written, recorded and sold, go and support Peesh and buy it on FACEBOOK
