Can You Handle The Scandal - Self Released
Who is San Niguel and what’s this Scandal he’s talking about?. Well do we all remember lockdown and that worldwide virus thing, yeah thought you might, so Mr Niguel was not fully born out of this, but he found the time to drive forward his take on life and music to the point that an album was written and now its been given its release upon the world (it might even go viral).

If you like your music straight up and to the point, then this is an album that should be on your playlist, whether its via those music killing platforms like Spotify (other rip off merchant’s are available) or just simply messaging the man himself and giving direct, the latter being something we shall all strive to do. Songs that are born out of a full life experience and penned in the same manner, ‘Easy Street’ gives a take on how a stress free life should be for all of us, but some actually have to work to get it, not expect it, its musically an ear worm, as are most of the songs on this album.
The album as a whole could be labelled as a Punk/Folk/Blues/Indie/Rock N Roll fest, but what is probably as important as the danceable, sing-a-long ditty’s is the way that San hits all the right note on life in our times and what has affected us all as some point when growing up, ‘You Should Have Asked Her’ lets us all remember those misses opportunities (for good or bad), ‘Bastards’ is probably one of the only out right political moments, a revolution/never give up song, ‘Mr Trippy The Dodgy Ice Cream Man’, yes we all must have known them, the Ice Cream van that drove the streets selling not a lot of Ice Cream.
I’ve been lucky to see and know Mr Niguel for quite a number of years now, and you could think that this review might hold a little bias, but truth is, even I was shocked at how good this offering actually has turned out (lifts his songs to another level), having an album that has been produced by Inklings members and friends, has been a triumph for sure, but the most important point, is that this is an album that will have you foot tapping and just enjoying life, come on, an album that ends with ‘Drunk On A Sunday’ and has the lyric “I just wanna get drunk on a Sunday with you” but also makes you feel like your actually there with him singing along, what more could you want.
Musically eclectic, lyrically astute, and 100% real!
