David Delinquent Releases “Scared To Spend” EP
Dundee’s David Delinquent (The Delinquents / David Delinquent & The IOU’s / Football, Beer & Punk Rock Podcast) has self released a brand new EP, Scared…
The Pain Of Loneliness (Goes On And On) - Dirtnap Records
Dusk have led a somewhat schizophrenic lifestyle since their formation in 2014, originally formed as self indulgent recording project their line up has steadily expanded to become a going concern as a full band, during this time they have doubled up as both support and backing for Tim Buchanan as Cherry Death and as part of an extended line of Tenement, with Amos Pitsch being the member that links the two outfits. Now Dusk have released their new single, The Pain Of Loneliness (Goes On And On), on vinyl and digital formats via Dirtnap Records.
The single’s title track was written by Amos Pitsch, if you were expecting anything that reflects an influence from Tenement then you’re in for a surprise as The Pain Of Loneliness (Goes On And On) is two and a half minutes of uptempo country punk that carries more than a dash of rock ‘n roll in it’s DNA. The flip side, Go Easy, that what written by guitarist Tyler Ditter, brings things down as it’s dips much deeper into the country influences that have informed their sound.
Both tracks were records at The Crutch Of Memory, Dusk‘s Wisconsin based HQ and recording studio, with the two tracks reflecting differing facets of the band, having said that if anyone is surprised that I preferred the single’s title track then you just haven’t been paying attention. The Pain Of Loneliness (Goes On And On) serves as a taster for Dusk‘s upcoming full length that’s due out in June via Don Giovanni Records, but in a pleasing return to the days when singles were separate entities from albums neither song will feature on the forthcoming album.
