Derailed - A Jam Records
Central Florida’s punk rock outfit, The ProblemAddictsfl, formed in the summer of 2016, they promptly released their first self titled EP that showcased their driving guitar riffs, melodic bass lines, ripping beats and straight from the heart lyrics that saw them winning over fans state wide. The start of 2018 saw them complete their first tour, and add a fourth member to their line up to complete their dream team, and release their second EP, Derailed, that is now available via A Jam Records.
Jake Rambles tips you headlong into the Derailed EP, this is full tilt Epifat influenced punk rock with all the woahs and frantic riffs you could wish for, whilst the slightly more restrained Firestarters carries on with impression that this is SoCal transplanted to the sunshine state. Lack Of Trying, One Trick Pony and Working Class Clowns, my personal favourite from the Derailed EP, all keep the upbeat punk rock coming thick and fast before the final track, Distance, brings things to a close with the EP’s most heartfelt and heartbroken moment.
The claustrophobic production on the Derailed EP, and it’s frantic nature, gives the impression that this was recorded one one hectic session, and it’s a style that suits The ProblemAddictsfl perfectly, the result is an EP that will be lapped up by fans of the likes of No Use For A Name, The Bouncing Souls and Lagwagon. The Derailed EP is six tracks of rock solid punk rock, whilst The ProblemAddictsfl don’t bring anything new to the table they do play from the heart, something that makes Derailed a six track EP that I defy anyone with a love of 90’s punk rock not to find a place in their heart and their playlist for.
