Tokyo Taboo have built quite a reputation with their spectacular, energy filled live performances. On October 4th Tokyo Taboo let loose their new single “Whiskey” which is taken from their hugely anticipated upcoming new album.
The central core of the band Dolly Daggerz and Mickey Danger (fitting names for these highly charged individuals), after the Londoner’s released their debut album 6th Street Psychosis, which gained plenty of acclaim from across the industry. The pair have not been resting on the back of it, with live shows racking up experience and a following of loyal fans, they have also been hard at work on producing a new and much awaited follow up album, if there EP’s that have filled the gap are anything to go by, we are all in for a treat of musical and lyrical growth, with new layers of amazing ability.
The true energy and riotous onslaught of their new release “Whiskey” is now ready to be unleashed on a public that ready or not will be floored! The track, a raw and personal story of Dolly’s relationship with alcohol, Daggerz comments: “I wanted to describe how I’d become dependent on alcohol to feel ok. I got so used to drinking whiskey straight out of the bottle before jumping on stage. I thought being wasted was the only way I could perform as a riotous female. Turns out I never needed alcohol at all and that craziness lives in me!” Dolly, now sober for almost a year, says, “I was a walking emotional rollercoaster. High from the adrenaline of our show then so low the next day…I could see a nasty end for myself if I didn’t pack it in.”
“Whiskey” promises to be a career defining track and Tokyo Taboo Promise to be the band to look out for over the coming new year!!!! The band you wish you could be in “Tokyo Taboo”
