Sheer Terror Unleash “Squat Diddler” Single
On the eve on their May 2026 European Tour, NYC's SHEER TERROR have released their new single, Squat Diddler, that…
The Popsicle EP - Eyeball Records
The first time I heard the name Zolof The Rock And Roll Destroyer was when my pal Bill was talking about them on the forum. He was raving about how good they were and telling everyone to check them out. Being the good little follower that I am, I did. I followed the link to purevolume and then to Eyeball Records and opened up the e-card promoting their new EP, The Popsicle EP. I was immediately hooked and kept that thing on repeat for well over half an hour, even though it was only one song being played over and over again. So I went to work and got myself a copy of The Popsicle EP and quickly threw it into my computer to see if the rest of the EP was jut as good as Crazy = Cute was; and it was.
From the adorable artwork to the quirky names, Zolof‘s Popsicle EP is quite unique. Everywhere from the speedy opener, Argh… I’m A Pirate (featuring Kenny Vasoli of The Starting Line on vocals), to the slow moving closer, Popsicle; Zolof‘s infectious melodies never quit. Great pop-punk melodies get you singing and clapping along instantly. The poppy female vocals backed up by “woahs” and keyboards solos merge together flawlessly creating some sickly-sweet pop-punk tunes that you can’t help but fall in love with.
It isn’t the strongest release of the year, or the most moving, but it is fun. And that’s what music is supposed to be: fun. It’s supposed to get you energized and get you to want to listen to it over and over again. The Popsicle EP succeeds at that, and that is what makes it a good release. The biggest downfall is the length, as it is only 5 songs, it ends really quickly. Luckily, you don’t mind pressing repeat and listening to it a few more times. And with another full length expected to be released in 2005, I know Zolof The Rock And Roll Destroyer will be a name frequently mentioned in new music conversations in the near future. And I, for one, am damn glad Bill told me to check them out when he did; it’s not something I’ll regret soon and you wont either.
