Abolitionist Return With New Album “The Long Slide”

Oregon’s Abolitionist have released their new full length, The Long Slide, that is now available on limited edition cassette and as a name your price download via Bandcamp, the album is the first part of a planned trilogy and is the first new material from the band since 2023’s A Pernicious Truth.

“It’s album one of three planned, all of which follow the loose storyline of a brother and sister as they navigate through the long slide, the shake up, and eventual recovery of civilization (whatever that means). Featuring drones, artificial intelligence, civil strife, community networking, et cetera. Fun stuff. It’s sort of a new direction for this musical project called Abolitionist. More chorus / flange / synth / drum machine. Hopefully it sounds like Abolitionist still. I think the “sound” has changed a bit since I started doing stuff under the Abolitionist name in 2008 (!) but not drastically. In any event, I’m still having fun with it. This is first thing I’ve self-recorded and released under the moniker, so hopefully it sounds decent.”
