All Riot by Angry Youth Elite is the ultimate soundtrack for those who stand up for freedom and justice. With a short but powerful hardcore punk sound and an energetic voice, the song goes straight to the barricades. All Riot is an anthem to revolution in today’s world as well as a cry against police violence. There are politically charged hardcore edges from the likes of Good Riddance, the positive refusal attitude of early Pennywise, multi-throated singalongs à la Millencolin and an awareness of the roots from the 70s, which extends to a short but concise reggae interjection.
Considering what’s going on in the world, the title of their upcoming album couldn’t be more fitting. Anyone who expects nothing more than finger pointing and a moral sermon will be disappointed. Of course the band denounces social injustice and the way mankind deals with the resources of our planet. However, the focus is broadened by topics such as aging, addiction problems and homelessness, something that gives the album a very personal touch, as evidenced by the album’s hard hitting title track that is released today with the album set to follow on the 16th June via Bakraufarfita Records.
