Animal Shithouse Drop “CK” Single & Video

Despite hailing from the very Royal and very leafy town of Tunbridge Wells in Kent, visceral young punks Animal Shithouse are at opposed odds to the area’s natural beauty. Formed in August of 2021, the sound of Animal Shithouse is a seething, intense barrage of spikey and jagged post-punk ferocity. Having spent the last two years blowing people’s heads off with their sharp sound, the quartet have barely scratched the surface of their cutting sound. Finding inspiration in the likes of Soft Play and Ladybird from their hometown, alongside alternative legends like Rage Against The Machine and the Sex Pistols, they mesh the old and the traditional and the innovative to deliver a gut punch in their forthcoming EP, Who Taught You To Hate?, that is due for release on December 1st via Lockjaw Records. 

Culled from the EP, new single CK is a story of self-actualisation whilst constantly regressing and battling against one’s own urges, CK merges all that defined early Animal Shithouse tracks with grit, intensity and black humour now framed through a progression into darker electronic arrangements and enraged emotional turmoil. Recorded late into the night, CK was an electric process in its construction, combining all members’ intentions to push post-punk into further experimentation. Breakbeats paired with the snarl of trad punk and vocal delivery that was recorded during a very real and raw struggle with self-hatred, substance abuse and hopelessness. This is Animal Shithouse at its rawest, darker, more intense, more inescapable.
