Post punk / alt newcomers Blair Gun have announced that their debut album, Blaspheme Queen, is set for release on the 3rd March via Enabler No. 6 & sonaBLAST! Records. The San Diego based band today released their third single, Man Of The Hour, alongside a music video, which pokes fun at toxic masculinity and arrogant swagger in the band’s signature tongue-in-cheek anti-establishment style. Blair Gun also recently announced new shows in Southern California, including a show at legendary west coast venue SOMA on the 11th February as well as a show at Soda Bar on the 21st February. On April 1st they will perform at Sun Valley Film Fest and a full scale SoCal tour will be announced imminently.

Evoking a post-punk and early aughts alternative rock, Blair Gun are solidifying their place in the Southern California scene whilst quickly growing beyond it. Instead of leaning into surf rock, they are focusing on revisiting and reshaping the sounds that inspire them, from Wire to Devo, The Microphones to Parquet Courts, they even have a song dedicated to fellow Tom Brady hater Andrew Savage.

We had been on a long kick of old school hip hop and rap songs, and loved how overly braggadocious they can be at times. We wanted to put our own somewhat nonsensical indie rock spin on those lyrical themes.”
