Blink-155 Release “Free Punk Lyrics” Compilation

“Free Punk Lyrics” was a joke tumblr started by Alex and Josiah in 2011 where they would write absurd punk lyrics in four minutes or less, the lyrics were posted online under the pretence that upcoming punk bands could use them for free. In 2018, listeners of the Blink-155 podcast started making real songs out of the lyrics posted on tumblr. 39 tracks later, the free punk lyrics compilation is here, this impressively vast collection of music includes everything from d-beat and twee through breakcore, hip-hop, spoken word and post-punk and a prominent Canadian indie musician even does her best Fucked Up impression on one track. In addition to the digital version of the compilation “Free Punk Lyrics” has also been pressed onto a limited run red glitter cassette.
