On Friday, Boise’s post-riot grrrl trio Blood Lemon will share their new EP, Petite Deaths, via Moon Ruins. Today, as a final preview, they shared a sludged-out reworking of Jessica Pratt’s Mountain’r Lower. Here, the band allows their more other-worldly influences to shine through, transforming the original’s sparse, grayscale beauty into a desert-psych headbanger. Later this week, Blood Lemon will kick off a run of West Coast dates beginning in January with a show at Mississippi Studios in Portland, OR on the 17th.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Jessica Pratt and her songwriting. I love how her early songs seemed to carry a sense of darkness.
