Captain Accident Reveals New Single & Video ‘Wings’

Captain Accident have revealed Wings, the second single and video to be taken from their fourth studio album, Bad Press, that will be released on the 20th August through all major digital outlets as well as on CD. Lyrically, Wings is a humane, bittersweet and melancholy portrayal of ambition against the odds; musically, as always with Captain Accident, it is a joyous amalgam of the sweetest rhythms and the most soulful of vocals. As Captain Accident explains: “Wings is about how we build our dreams, our hopes and ambitions and how they can be instantly taken from us by the actions of others, our own actions or by other unavoidable situations. The higher you aim, the further you fall, so don’t shoot too high because if things go wrong, it can be a long way down.”

The accompanying video documents these ambitions through saddened yet hopeful eyes. “The video follows a down and out clown who wants to escape from his mundane existence. He has a eureka moment when he sees a balloon floating by his window and decides to embark on a new career as a handyman, collecting balloons as payment. He eventually builds his balloon payments to the point where he has enough to float away to a better place. I enjoyed doing this one, I wanted to keep a serious edge to it, making sure it wasn’t too silly, and I was very mindful of this when thinking about my character’s body language and expressions. I think the video fits well with the song.”
