Crapsons are boldly charging into chaos with the confidence of people who definitely didn’t read the instructions. Formed on the back of a drunken pub conversation, Crapsons are a punk rock trio from Birkenhead, UK who are known for dry, witty lyrics with tongue-in-cheek humour, crossing over with loud, fuzzy guitars and bass, and ear-splitting drums. The band have gone from strength to strength over years, plying their trade all over the UK, Ireland, and beyond, and enjoyed notable support slots with the likes of The Undertones, Half Man Half Biscuit, UK Subs, and Steve Ignorant. After numerous EPs, and singles, Crapsons have today released a full studio album, Sunshine on Keith, that is available via streaming platforms and on physical formats via the band’s own Crap Records. This is a coming-of-age record that illuminate the defects of working-class life and leaving behind youthful years as they steam roll towards middle age. Sunshine on Keith was recorded at Crosstown Studios in Liverpool, engineered, produced and mixed by Jon Lawton, and mastered by Russ Hayes at Orange Studios in Penmaenmawr.

“The album opens with the lead single, Waiting For Armageddon which is about how quickly your life goes. It’s a morbid theme but with a self-deprecating edge. Inspired mainly about how we used to go to music festivals, party all night at Shangri-La in Glastonbury, and life our lives to the fullest then before you know it, we’re excited to go to bed. There are tracks like Those Fuckin’ Church Bells, which is a simple song about church bells keeping drummer Andy Gilbert up all night when we stayed in a hotel after a gig. Netflix & Kill is a raw, upbeat song with a horror film edge, and Girl on the Side of the Road is our take on a love song. Calvin Harris Owes Us £20 is a short song about when Calvin Harris found his way into Crapfest and we joked how he never bought a ticket; despite his claims he did. The album concludes with one we are very proud of, Fuck Off For Good that features punk rock legend and Crass frontman Steve Ignorant. The third and final part in our Fuck Off songs trilogy. We are delighted to finally bring this out. We have been working hard, devoted a lot of time and effort to get this right. We have worked with some great people to get this ready for you. It’s a big step up for the 10-minute album we made. We’re knackered” (Andy Gilbert)
