Unmade Share Two Tracks From Upcoming Self Titled Debut EP
The New York/Virginia based band Unmade, which features members of Walk The Plank, have announced that they will release their…
Danish hardcore band SYL has made a name for themselves in their endless war against genre conventions, not least through their collaboration with Danish Hip-Hop icon D1MA in 2025. They released the song BRÆNDER, which they performed with D1MA at Roskilde Festival‘s Orange Stage that same summer. Now, SYL have released their second full-length album TL;DR, taking one step further into the genre-bending style associated with the band. TL;DR is internet slang for ‘Too long; didn’t read’, an expression of apathy in a digital age where a constant stream of information has numbed our ability to process larger chunks of text than what fits in a social media caption. That is the reality into which SYL‘s second album writes itself. TL;DR is a thoroughly political work, steeped in inspiration drawn from both old and new propaganda. The album deals with some of the issues that modern, late-stage capitalist society has created for us humans: ideological division, growing inequality, climate collapse, mental health crisis, and misinformation. TL;DR is now available through streaming platforms here and on 12″ vinyl here.
SYL definitely has their background in Hardcore, but on TL;DR they fuse that background with influences from an array of other musical genres such as EDM, Pop and Indie Rock. That’s more than evident through the different collaborators SYL has worked with on the album, including artists like Honningbarna, Sivas, Karoline Funder, Østen and EYES. SYL will follow up the release of TL;DR with an extensive tour of the nordics that will see the band travelling through Sweden, Norway, Iceland and of course Denmark. The tour concludes in SYL’s biggest headliner show yet, at the Copenhagen venue Store Vega. SYL is a live act that doesn’t ask for space, they carve it out. Their shows leave few untouched, not even those who are experiencing the highly infectious energy of Hardcore for the first time. SYL is a chaotic release of pent-up frustration.
