Exclusive: The Sleights Reveal “Fucked Up” Single & Lyric Video
Colorado Springs punk band, The Sleights, will release their self-titled EP, It’s Not That Easy, on December 21st via Encapsulated Records, today the band have premiered the second single from the album, Fucked Up. Formed in early 2014, the four-piece have self-released five EPs, one album and played shows throughout their home state of Colorado, as well as multiple tours throughout the Midwest and West Coast. Pulling from its strong punk rock and rock & roll roots, the band keeps the music short and simple, and the live shows fast and fun.
“‘It’s Not That Easy’ is a slightly darker step away from our last record. We had new material we felt could stand alone as an EP and the songs run a little longer than our previous material because we spent much more time crafting lyrics and leads. It touches on themes of social alienation, near death experiences, and problems trusting those around you. The title track discusses the frustration of working in a band, or any group for that matter, and trying to keep the whole thing afloat. Something that is often more easily said than done.”
