Blasting through your speakers with a fist-pumping blend of catchy hooks, punchy lyricism and exhilarating riffs, Aussie Gold Coast quintet Fake News have honed an unabashed and expressive brand of modern punk rock. The Queensland outfit have cut their teeth supporting some of punk’s iconic names, including Lagwagon, Pennywise, Darko and A Wilhelm Scream, and their star continued to rise with the release of their 2021 debut full length, Everyday Warrior, and the 2023 EP, Take Me Away.
The band’s new collection, Time and Place, shows Fake News at their most driven and their most focused to date. The record documents the highs and lows of modern life with a relatable narrative and an unerringly grounded delivery. Fake News latest release sees their hook-heavy contemporary pop-punk intertwined with nods to some of the 90’s finest purveyors of the genre. The Time And Place EP, which includes the singles Moving On and Not Giving Up, is now available via Bandcamp and streaming platforms.
