Harvest of Hope Foundation have launched a new auction to help raise more funds for their charity. Autographed musical instruments have been donated by artists from the 2010 Harvest of Hope Fest to help raise funds for migrant agricultural workers. Migrant farmworkers harvest our fruits and vegetables in rural areas out of sight of most Americans. They earn our support due to their continuous hard work and incredible work ethic; all to provide us the energy we need to sustain life. They travel long distances to do fieldwork that most Americans will not do, earn relatively little for their effort, and struggle to find adequate housing and health care services.
As of April 1, 2010 the Harvest of Hope Foundation has distributed over $800,000 for car repairs due to breakdowns, gas, tires, bus tickets, housing, rent, utilities, medical services, food, clothing, funeral expenses and scholarships to children of migrant farmworkers attending college.
The auction, which includes numerous signed guitars, can be seen here.
