Character Actors Release “Everywhere Is Good Except For Where We Are” EP
Leeds, UK's Character Actors have today released the Everywhere Is Good Except For Where We Are EP that is available…
Standing out as one of the most respected and nationally recognized Black hardcore/punk groups to emerge from the streets and stages of New York in decades, Rebelmatic releases another vibey hard-rocking anthem that falls neatly in their growing list of tunes fans gleefully sing along with at shows.
Few bands in the pantheon of Black Rock Gods can boast that they have been lauded by everyone from Bad Brains to David Byrne, and recorded with legends like Angelo Moore. The boys from Brooklyn have accomplished this and much more. On the heels of their critically acclaimed 2020 album ‘Ghost In The Shadows’ and 2022 release ‘Mourning Dove’, the new single pushes things up a few notches pushing them further into the territory of iconic NYC rock bands.
Listen to Amnesia now, ahead of its release on February 17th:
Fans with a sharp eye and ear may catch the homage to trailblazer Little Richard in the single’s Dali-esque cover art, and frontman Creature’s command to “Shut Up!” (Little Richard was known for playfully admonishing his fans, yelling this to them at live shows) during the song’s intro and outro.
The single helps pave the way for their upcoming Southern tour with revered rockers, Weedeater. The opening line of the new tune may boast “I don’t need no therapist…” but crowds getting a dose of these New York titans on the road just might when the stage is empty, the lights come on and the crowd is thirsty for more.
