In Memoriam: Lloyd Knibb – The Skatalites (1931 – 2011)

Lloyd Knibb, drummer for legendary ska act The Skatalites, passed away last night in Jamaica after a battle with liver cancer. Lloyd had been visiting Jamaica to see family while going through treatments for his liver.

Knibb was part of one of the most influential ska bands of all time, The Skatalites. His last performance with them was this past April.

He is survived by his wife, 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
