Moonraker are on an absolute tear this year. With each of their released singles gaining more momentum than the previous one, the excitement for their new full-length album on Punkerton Records is reaching high levels of anticipation. With a release date of October 9th, their new album, Me And The Bells, is available for pre-order on CD and ‘cookie monster’ and ‘amber wave’ vinyl from Punkerton Records. The band have also released a brand new music video for the album’s focus track, Sometimes I Drink From the Volcano.
“There is seemingly no realistic way to make a living making music, at least in a, ‘This is my job, I clock in, do my work, and clock out and do something else’ capacity (unless you’re EXTREMELY fortunate). You kinda have to always be grinding away at it when you’re not doing it and also have like six other irons in the fire. You could make a living playing music if you play in two bands, a cover band, teach lessons, and do a few other things and even then you’re most likely just kinda scraping by. There’s not a lot of, “This is my one job that pays all of my bills and it’s playing in my band” going on anymore. There’s also not a lot of “This is my one job and it pays all of my bills and it’s (insert normal person job title)” going on anymore either. But maybe there used to be? It kinda seems like all of us were raised on the belief that all of our heroes weren’t struggling at their day jobs behind the scenes. Like, there’s no way Slash is gonna have to get someone to fill in for him at the next Guns N’ Roses tour cause his job wouldn’t give him the time off without cutting his health insurance. But that’s unfortunately a real possibility for I wanna say, 75% of the bands I listen to if not way more. So yeah, sometimes we drink a little bit.” (drummer & vocalist David Green)
