Following up on the November release of their recent single, Mere Slaughter, Birmingham, UK based post-punk / noise-rock trio Mutes return with their new single, Televangelist, that is now available via streaming platforms and is taken from their upcoming fourth studio album, …Buried Where You Stand, that is due for release on May 17th via No Sound Records. Recorded entirely live as a three-piece with Mark Gittins at Megatone Studios, Televangelist is a ‘wince-and-you’ll-miss-it’ flurry of new wave wooze and punk rock charge; A sub-three-minute nugget of existential crisis carried with motorik purpose.

Originally conceived as a solo, primarily-ambient project by vocalist and lyricist James, Mutes released their eponymous debut EP in 2014. Things took a decidedly noisier turn with the release of Starvation Age in 2015, a full-band release that embraced the groups love of noise-rock and psychedelia. The EP was followed by a trio of full lengths; 2017’s No Desire, 2019’s Pareidolia and 2021’s Dreams of Being Cornered.

Mutes will be appearing at Nottingham, UK’s Chameleon Arts Cafe on the 23rd February with Stay In Nothing, Slung and Diaspar and at London, UK Blondies on February 29th with Pet Sematary.
