Peru’s Los Morts Reveal “Slasherpunk” Album
Slasherpunk is the third album by Peruvian horror punk band Los Morts that is out today via We Are Horror Records. Recorded between August 2022 and March 2023 at the Hablacaza Records Studios in Arequipa, Peru, and like their latest recordings, it was produced by Giovanni Villar, Slasherpunk also reunites the band’s original lineup for this first time in six years. At its heart, Slasherpunk is a concept album and represents a new genre in horror punk, one which embraces slasher movies as it’s main influence.
Slasherpunk‘s influences range from slasher classics such as Profondo Rosso, Psycho and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, through the ‘golden age’ via Halloween, Friday The 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street and My Bloody Valentine before bringing us right up to date with the likes of Candyman and Scream.
