Ramona Marx

Showcasing a driving sense of energy with tight racing drums, explosive distorted guitar tones, deep bass and visceral shouted vocals, Ramona Marx continue to carve out their own space in the UK’s underground punk scene. With moments which showcase impressive and inventive musicianship and others which focus on creating an angst ridden, vexed tone, the band’s sound is at once messy and urgent whilst retaining a tight and pointed sense of direction. The Splenectomy EP was recorded at the Forum Recording Studio in Kent and features four tracks that delve into the harsh realities of modern life.

“Splenectomy – the surgical removal of the spleen. Inspired by Sam’s sudden ruptured spleen back in February. ‘Splenectomy’ is a removal of spite. Pent up anger and hate consumes and devours. This EP is us in our most naked form. We want to surgically remove this spite and serve it up to you on a cold and bitter plate. Our first extended play and our best recordings yet “Splenectomy” represents a new chapter in Ramona Marx. Notably it was recorded and produced by Erik Miles at the Forum Recording studios, who has worked with the likes of Soft Play and Kate Nash’.”
