Wild Honey Records Release Free 2026 Sampler
Wild Honey Records is still run the same way it started: out of a garage, non-profit, no contracts, and a…
Four Neighborhood pals got together in 1977 heavily influenced by the earliest budding LA punk scene. They called themselves Rhino 39. The band would practice on their broken down gear by day, hit the Hollywood clubs at night then top it off with an early morning after-party at the condemned Masque underground punk club. They were the last band to record for the infamous Dangerhouse record label and first band to release an LP with the now influential XXX Records.
If asked, the guys will fondly recall their punk rock memories, and the great bands with whom they shared the stage. From the time they played Black Flags first show, destroyed the Whiskey with Black Randy and the Metro Squad, the nights the Go-Gos would open the show, Jack Grisham’s (TSOL) living room, a backyard party with the Offspring, a drunken desert outpost with the original Sublime, and to have played the very first show promoted by Goldenvoice.
In 2014, Rhino 39 , got back together to play a reunion show featuring many of the other Dangerhouse bands, such as the Weirdos, Alleycats, and Avengers.
Now, with just three original members, the band is currently working on a new full length album; going into the studio mid 2016 — this will be the bands first album since 1986!
