Milan's Tornado Lobster Killer have released Lobsteria, a record that transforms uncertainty, frustration, and personal upheaval into something urgent, honest, and cathartic. The…
Semi Famous was the name of the band in John Jughead (Screeching Weasel) novel, Weasels In A Box, Rarebird Publishing’s Tyson Cornell contacted Jughead and suggested the idea of bringing the band to life for a 7inch EP. John Jughead brought in friends Ryan Rockwell (Mixtapes) and Billy Brown (Crash & Burn), together they recorded the Collective Mindlessness 7 inch. The adventure was so rewarding that they brought in Poli vanDam (The Bombpops) to record the Destroy Ourselves full length. A month after recording in LA the band all flew to Chicago for one acoustic and one electric show before Jughead returned to Japan. Over this action packed weekend the band became tight, musically and personally. Each member felt they had been adopted into not just a new band, but a new family.
Three esteemed artists of the pop punk world Chrisopher Appelgren, Paul Russel, and Tommy Eppesteingher first came together for Destroy Ourselves. Jughead had the concept and the three artists used each of their individual talents to bring it to life. The three artists enjoyed the challenge of multiple minds trying to create one album vision, so they tackled this approach again on an even deeper level by working from just the title to create the concept, the drawings, and the layout of the latest record. When Billy died of cancer a few months before the release of the first full length record, his memory, his energy, passion, and curmudgeonly lovableness affected the rest of the band and they decided to get together again and record another record. They brought in Poli’s husband, Mike L. Kinshella (Murderland) and Jughead’s wife Nanako Nishio on piano and together they all wrote and recorded the second full length record, Not Sorry, that will be released April 10th 2026 via Sounds Rad Records. Semi Famous have now released the video for The Betrayal B4/The Best Treachery that is taken from their upcoming album.
