Smoking Popes To Reissue “Born To Quit”

Smoking PopesThe Smoking Popes will be reissuing there major label debut Born To Quit on SideOneDummy Records October 23rd. The album was originally release on Capitol Records

The reissue will come with a deluxe package featuring new artwork, additional liner notes from Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, Joe Shanahan of Chicago’s Metro and comedian Kyle Kinane. The album will also have an analysis of each track by front man Josh Caterer as well as two new bonus tracks: a cover of Willie Nelson‘s “Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground” and the previously unreleased “Blanket In The Park“. The album will be available on CD as well as limited edition red and blue vinyl. The red vinyl can be bought at the SideOneDummy website while the blue will be available on the tour.

The Smoking Popes will be touring the states during October and November. To celebrate the re-release they will be playing Born To Quit in it’s entirety every show as well as a set from the remainder of The Popes‘ catalogue. A list of dates can be seen below.
