The Glitter Tits EP is the brand-new release from Tyneside alt Punks The Band For Disease Control & Prevention, the EP is now available digitally with a limited edition CD arriving in December and 10 inch vinyl following early in the new year. The band pretty much broke up at the back end of last year after having been active on the UK DIY punk scene since 2013, playing around the UK and landing support slots to Buzzcocks, Dead Boys and also appearing at the prestigious Rebellion Festival in Blackpool. However, after finding and writing new tracks with new vocalist Karena as a trial the band decided to release a couple of singles to gauge how the new songs would sound and be received.

The tracks were recorded at the height of the spring lockdown, with each member having to record their own parts at home and for the tracks to be assembled at The Band For Disease Control & Prevention headquarters. The two singles, Insomnia and Read All About It, were released without all four members of the band yet to physically meet. Song writing has continued, such is the extent and quality of the new songs written the band no longer perform any of the old songs recorded with previous line ups. With over twenty new songs written, covering subjects such as love, sex, obsession and alien invasion, it was difficult to narrow down the tracks to place on the EP.

After a number of line up changes The Band For Disease Control & Prevention consists of Karena Serdecka (vocals / guitar), Antony Bircham (guitar / samples), Andy Cooper (bass, guitar) and John Melrose (drums). The Glitter Tits EP is the first full band recording since lockdown restrictions were lifted, The Band For Disease Control & Prevention will be touring in support of the EP and will be recording a full album in the New Year.
