Is A Gateway Drug is The Bare Minimum’s third full length that is now available on CD and through all major streaming platforms. Is A Gateway Drug includes six new songs and the previously released singles Bonestorm, Scars & Stripes, Party Martyr, Echo In My Head, Bitter Pill and Woah. Is A Gateway Drug pays homage to 90s skate-punk while avoiding the pitfalls of nostalgia. The CD and download versions of the album contain an additional bonus song, Stairway to Hell, that features guest organ from Devon Lougheed (Altered By Mom).
Tracks like Conspiracy 2 (Shadowban) and Garbage In My Brain serve as meditations on misinformation and internet culture, while Stay At Home Son paints a portrait of adolescence extending into infinity. The penultimate track, Part Time Punks, shows a more progressive side of the band, providing a meta-commentary on being a punk band during late capitalism.
