Following the release of their fiery debut single, Testify!, The Discarded have returned with their second single, Going Down To The Beach, that is taken from their upcoming album The Green Door that will be released oN November 25th. This surf-punk-infused track offers a raw, reflective escape from the chaos of daily life, a literal and metaphorical journey to unplug and recharge. Inspired by the early days of lockdown, frontman JP Wasson wrote the song while balancing work during the pandemic, yearning for a mental reset.
Going Down To The Beach captures the essence of a summer punk anthem, but thematically, it dives into self-reflection and finding healthy outlets to escape from destructive habits. It’s a sonic and emotional break, an anthem for clearing your head and grounding yourself.
