The Real New Fall LP (Formerly Country On The Click) was the 23rd studio album by The Fall, it was originally released in the UK in 2003 and now Cherry Red Records are set to release an expanded 20th anniversary re-issue on the 26th January. The subtitle in the album is explained by the fact that the tracks were originally scheduled for release in April 2003 under the title Country On The Click. Promotional copies were sent out and three of the new songs were previewed in the band’s 23rd Peel Session, but Mark. E Smith was unhappy with the mix and decided it needed further work.

The album was originally recorded at Lisa Stansfield’s Gracieland Studios between December 2002 and January 2003 with producer Grant Showbiz and was originally released in 2003 on Action Records. The Real New Fall LP (Formerly Country On The Click) is now available for pre-order as a 5CD box set here (which includes the full album, released and rejected versions, a disc of interim recordings, all the singles and b-sides, their 23rd Peel Session and a 2004 live recording from NYC’s Knitting Factory) and on transparent yellow 12″ vinyl here.
