Satirical Essex punk band The Kunts have returned to battle for the UK Christmas Number 1 spot with their new single, Fuck The T*ries, that will be released on the 16th December via The Kunts‘ own label, Tactical Voting Records. Fuck The T*ries is a barbed but factually accurate protest song shining a light in simplest terms on 12 years of Conservative corruption, lies and incompetence. The song contains 69 ‘F’ words in its 2 minutes and 18 seconds, the previous record for a Christmas Number 1 is 14 in Rage Against The Machine‘s 2009 hit Killing In The Name Of.
Questioned on whether some of the lyrics refer to LadBaby, Kunt stated that he likes to keep his lyrics “open to interpretation as to which seedy fanny rat sausage roll charity millionaire I’m referring to”. He continued: “That said, it’s one who wasn’t a millionaire before he started making charity records and who has used food banks, hunger, and despair to hawk downloads and flog sausage roll-related tat”
The Kunts are also set to head out on tour in the UK this December with Petrol Bastard supporting, with a headline show at London’s News Cross Inn on the day Fuck The T*ries is released.
