Round Records have issued The Wildheart‘s 1995 album, PHUQ, re-mastered and re-packaged into the original double album it was always intended to be. PHUQ has also been given the Dave Draper treatment, to bring its sound bang up-to-date. The current incarnation of The Wildhearts (Jon Pool (Cardiacs), Ben Marsden (The Main Grains), Pontus Snibb (Bonafide) & Ginger Wildheart) have a new album on the horizon and will be appearing at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on the 6th June.

“PHUQ was written, rehearsed and recorded as a double album. Our debut was a single record, our follow up would be a double, illustrating the ambition of the band and setting us on a very unique trajectory. Typically, for a corporate label, East West records wanted to take the road of least imagination. They ditched all the longer songs and tried to cobble together as close a copy to the first album, from a bunch of songs intended to appear together. The result was a fucking mess and our career was one of unrealised potential and diminishing returns. I am proud to present the album as it was originally conceived.” (Ginger Wildheart)
