Sheer Terror Unleash “Squat Diddler” Single
On the eve on their May 2026 European Tour, NYC's SHEER TERROR have released their new single, Squat Diddler, that…
Following the success of their recent releases, Scarecrow and Village Mentality, Newcastle’s psychedelic punks TV Death have dropped their new EP, The God, The One and The Devil, alongside the EP’s focus track, Dr Bloodmoney, and the accompanying music video. Dr. Bloodmoney captures the chaoticness of the threat of nuclear war with fuzzy swaying guitar tones and feedback creating a visceral feeling of destructiveness. Inspired by Philip K Dick‘s fictional story of the creator of the nuclear bomb Dr Bloodmoney’s narrative is written from the perspective of a megalomaniac leader threatening the world with nuclear destruction.
“What began as a fictional story inspired by the character, seemed to become a more and more relevant topic. As global tensions rise and a daily nuclear threat becomes the norm, this idea of such destruction in the hands of a few world leaders to determine the fate of many is the idea behind the song. As the character in the song blares out his ego, possessed with power during the verses, demanding the world to bend to his knees or else he’ll call in the bomb, his threats come into fruition during the choruses – Oh Doctor, bathe me in blood. The fast punky riff had been floating around for a while but just needed the right lyrics to match the mayhem.”

Directed by lead vocalist and guitarist Jack Burlison and shot by Firestone Video, the video for Dr Bloodmoney is the final chapter in the overarching storyline strung together by all the videos from the EP. Filmed in an abandoned dairy farm, we meet the story’s villain Dr Bloodmoney, a mad scientist responsible for the strange events occurring throughout the film. After the success of his experiments with the pills and creating distractions for the people in the village, we see him begin his masterplan to control the world.
Influenced by growing up in the Northeast of England or as they like to call it the “punching bag of the south.”, TV Death deliver dark lyrics with a distinctly sharp abrasiveness over a potent blend of garage rock, horror pop and post-punk. From the cost-of-living crisis to the effect of the media on the public, TV Death don’t shy away from tackling issues within the current climate of modern living and juxtaposing them against parodic and comedic visual elements in the music videos from The God, The One and The Devil.
“The concept for this EP was centred around taking modern societal issues and painting them with B-horror movie visuals. The songs and videos all link together to make commentary on the pandemic, the cost of living, news cycles, crime, and nuclear armageddon. Linking these themes with a narrative of propaganda and brainwashing to distract the public with these fictitious monsters to avoid solving the real issues at hand and keeping the power out of sight in the hands of the greedy. The power in the hands of this character and their delusion of grandeur to be the god, the one and the devil.”
