Manchester Punk Festival Releases 37th Compilation
Manchester Punk Festival have released the 37th volume of their compilation series ahead of this year’s festival. Manchester Punk Festival Vol. 37 is…
Professional skateboarder, cultural icon and guitarist Steve Caballero (The Faction, Odd Man Out, Soda) formed Urethane during quarantine with vocalist/guitarist Tim Fennelly (War Fever), bassist Chad Ruiz (Skipjack) and drummer Dylan Wade (The Bombpops). The band have now released their debut album, Chasing Horizons, that was produced, engineered, and mixed by Cameron Webb, via Cyber Tracks. The album also features guest appearances from H2O’s Toby Morse and Pennywise’s Jim Lindberg.
Urethane’s musical roots are undeniably influenced by punk rock, pop-punk and melodic hardcore, according to Caballero, “The album is jam-packed with catchy choruses and melodic hooks that range from mid-tempo sing-a-longs to aggressive fist-pumping screamers”. Chasing Horizons was written during quarantine so the lyrical themes lean towards the dark, depression (Gravity) to narcissism (Avalanches) to the bad traits and genetics we inherit and are forced to live with (Inheritance) to being your own worst enemy (Love Letter Bombs) to contentious relationships (What You Get) to love conquering even the darkest times (“What Becomes Of Us”).
Chasing Horizons is now available via Cyber Tracks
