Xmal Deutschland’s Anja Huwe Revisits Her Roots On “PolarForest” Single

PolarForest is the latest work from Post Punk forerunners Anja Huwe and Xmal Deutschland, the track is a saturnine mashup of Xmal Deutschland‘s 1987 track Polarlicht and Anja Huwe‘s 2024 Living In The Forest, the single reinvigorates the binding of Anja’s past to her future. The track comes as Anja Huwe prepares for live shows across Europe this summer, including appearances at Belguim’s Double Dare Festival, Poland’s Castle Party Festival and Greece’s Death Disco Open Air Festival.

After finishing her latest record, CODES,  which dissects the human experience and what extremes can do to an individual, Anja Huwe took some time off in NYC. While walking down 1st Ave she bumped into a guy with a huge 1980s tape recorder blasting a mash-up of two perfectly fitting songs. Fascinated by the music, she had a vision of her solo track Living In The Forest and the Xmal Deutschland song Polarlicht as a perfect synaesthetic mash-up.
