ZacTheLocust Provide Exclusive Track By Track Of Upcoming Debut Album “All I Am”

South Wales pop punkers ZacTheLocust are set to release their enticing debut album, All I Am, on Friday 30th August. The album is dedicated to lead vocalist, Cory James, who sadly passed away in May of this year. We exclusively caught up with the band and asked them to give us a track by track breakdown of the record:

Leap In the Dark

“It’s a song with a few different inspirations behind it. Remembering good times spent with friends and what you used to get up too in your younger days. Wishing you had done more of the things you enjoyed whilst you were young. But also realising that it’s never too late to try something, even if you don’t really know what the outcome might be.”

Trailblazer

“The song is about reaching for the stars, following your dreams of being somebody. Wanting to be a leader and not a follower.  Trying to be the best you can. I guess anyone can relate to this song if they have that positive “get up and make something happen” mindset.”

Take Me Away

“A song written whilst basically being bored in an everyday job. Wanting to get away from that. Being stuck in a rut. The 2nd verse is about someone who takes your mind off all that. But it’s mostly about being down about how your life is going at that particular moment in time. Bit of a downer lyrically, but to an upbeat tune.”

Hold On

“Written by Keryn Isaac (guitarist/vocalist) and inspired by the covid pandemic. It’s a song track that can not only be relatable to the years the world spent in lockdown, but everyday life too. An anthem of hope for everyone!”

Razorblades & Roses

“RazorBlades and Rose’s is about contrast, contradictions and complete opposites. About how life can be so beautiful but sometimes so dark and unforgiving. Finding the good in bad situations, “When you feel broken, one door opens and another one closes.””

Golden State Of Mind

“It’s all in the lyrics! It’s a story about a trip to California back in 2004. A friend was getting married to an American girl so we went along. Long plane journeys, long train rides, early morning beers. We spent time in San Jose, Monterey Bay and San Francisco. Lots of walking and yellow cabs, Golden Gate Bridge, Denny’s, and everything American! Just a great trip with friends and lots of great memories that were there to be sung about! Written not long after we got home so it’s been in the ZTL vault of songs for a while!”

All I Am

“It’s about being in a relationship and being in love. Being loyal to that person you’re with and saying you’d do anything for them. Missing them when they are not around but they still feel close.  Hopefully when we play it live everyone will get their phone lights out! It’s our love song/ballad Ha Ha!!”

This Is My Life

“This one is about trying to be positive when things aren’t going your way or how you imagined them going. I think most people can relate to that. Not being happy with the day-to-day grind that you feel life can be sometimes. Wanting to escape with someone and just head for the horizon and forget all your troubles for a while.”

Lazy Days

“LD is about kicking back, relaxing and enjoying spending time with friends and family. Sometimes being Lazy and not doing much is the reset people need when life can get stressful. And it can make you feel on top of the world when you forget all your worries and troubles. A feel-good tune with summer vibes. Living in Wales we always look forward to the warm summers. Beers, BBQ’s, sitting round a fire and enjoying those times.”

Walking Free

“A song about feeling that you’re caught up in a bad or claustrophobic situation. Wanting to break free of that feeling. Watching the world go by and sometimes wishing you were on the other side of the glass.”

Sunshine In My Heart

“This song is written about our children but anyone who is a parent can probably relate. The anticipation is waiting for them to be born. How being a parent changes your life and how you look at life. How even when it’s hard, the sleepless nights, the tantrums and everything else that goes with being a parent……….. It’s totally worth it. They can light up your day with a smile and you would do absolutely anything to make sure they feel loved and safe. Having kids has such an impact on your life but they always make you smile and feel so lucky. They are quite literally the Sunshine in Our Hearts.”
