Trashed

Faceplant EP - Self Released

Faceplant is a 5 track EP due out on April 24th from Bristol Power Pop Punk three piece who hail from the west country of the UK, Bristol to be more precise.  They have no fear in admitting that they are heavily into the likes of Green day, Sum 41 and Offspring to name a few.

To this end, it comes with no surprise that this EP has all the melodic riffs, fast paced power chords, hard hitting drum beats and sharp driven vocals.  Beyond this though, somehow Trashed have still managed stamp their own name all over it, little details of sound and lyrical nuance, makes this not only a flash back, but also a look forward.

Given that that style has been used and abused so many times over the last 30 years since its inception back in the 90’s, Trashed have still managed to create an EP that stands out, something that isn’t just played once and then consigned to the never again pile.

Heading off into the EP, track one “Isn’t That Cute” is possibly the most, early Green Day of all the that follow it, with a Deryck Whibley vocal style, not much else can be mused about this song, but it still has you thumping along with it.

“Disgusting” has been released on video recently and can be found HERE

Beyond this you get “Charlie Sheen” strangely enough a song about an American legend actor, but this has a more English vocal than any other, some wonderfully sharp snappy drum beats and intricate little guitar chords.

“Dear Kelsie” on the other hand has a wonderful bass melody thrown in there that can also be said about “Not The Same” the final track.

All in All, this EP has everything you want from a pop/punk stand point, with its own fresh sound, still thrashing around to get out there.
