Single Review: Downhill Dead – ‘Drunk Me’ (Single)

Drunk Me, the latest single from Zurich based punks Downhill Dead may stick to relatively well trodden punk rock path, wrapping distorted riffs and simple chord progressions around a story about the joys and perils of excessive drinking and a life spiraling downwards. These are themes synonymous with the punk rock scene through the years, but delivered with a vocal style sitting somewhere between Jello Biafra and Josh Homme it sounds somewhat more modern than it deserves to.

That doesn’t make it any less of a fun listen, and it certainly deserves a place in your summer time playlists.
