Dial Drive

Viva Le'Jit - A Jam Records

Dial Drive started out in late 2016, the band was formed by Jake LeDrew and Nathan Durazzo, the two blended their favorite genres of music and began writing, as soon as a full lineup was formed they began to play constantly throughout the state of Florida. Early in 2017 Dial Drive released their first EP, Never Go Home, which was an instant hit with it’s catchy songs and dual vocals, now Dial Drive have released their second EP, Viva Le’Jit, that blends pop punk instrumental elements with both party driven and serious emotional lyrics.

Throw Up isn’t usually a good way to start things, but Viva Le’Jit is an exception as the opening track is a raw fast paced blast that hooks you straight into the EP with it’s blend of pop punk and punk rock, Big Mistake continues to mine the pop punk vein with all the breakdowns and infectious choruses you could hope for. At the mid way point of the EP Worthless brings a shift in style and introduces a heavier element, before the EP launches itself recklessly back into their trademark frantic pop punk with November 8th. Medicated brings Viva Le’Jit to a close with a laid back skanking beat and rapid fire vocal delivery that recalls the early days of the Mad Caddies.

Dial Drive have released an EP that harks back to the glory days of pop punk, Viva Le’Jit combines all the best elements of the genre and crams them into one five track EP. Whether Viva Le’Jit will be a fixture on your playlist depends greatly on your opinion of pop punk’s heyday, but if you tastes lie towards the hedonistic days when Blink-182, Sum 41 and New Found Glory could do no wrong then Dial Drive‘s latest EP is one you really should investigate.
